    Hello,
Im starting with orocommerce, and I have one question about location.
I´ve published my own demo instance based in orocommerce beta4 (http://demo.b2b.comvanilla.com.br/) and start collaborating in Brazilian Portuguese Translation.
My question is about catalog location. There are plans to implement catalog locations like Akeneo PIM does!?
    Thanks

    Hi Mauro,

Can you please clarify what “location” feature are you talking about (a screenshot or link to documentation would be helpful) ?

    Thank you,
    Michael

    Yes,
Akeneo Demo has 3 locales enable:

    Locales

And Products have some atributes with values according its locale / Channel. For example, the same Product, with same Channel (E-commerce) has description values for Germany (I use Camiseta, that is T-Shirt in Brazilian Portuguese) and English:

    Products

    Products 2

In channels they have: E-commerce, Mobile and Print versions. Its nice too, cause for different channels I can have exactly what I want.

My little clients that ask me some B2B projects, usually has some kind of Press Catalogs, and Sell to Brazil and other Latin America Countries.

For now, I will translate Demo Data and I now that are many ways to do This, like have 3 Description Attributes fro exemple (one per Locale). But deal with Local and Channels is a nice feature.

    Thanks

    This functionality is already available.
Go to System -> Localization -> Localizations to manage the locales.

To edit product information in different locales click on the folder icon next to the localizable fields (like product name, description, short description) on the product edit screen.

The best way to submit your contribution would be through a pull request on GitHub. Your pull request should include a translated copy of the following file – https://github.com/orocommerce/orocommerce/blob/master/src/Oro/Bundle/ProductBundle/Migrations/Data/Demo/ORM/data/products.csv
    You may call it products-pt_BR.csv

If you feel comfortable with OroCommerce code, you may also modify https://github.com/orocommerce/orocommerce/blob/master/src/Oro/Bundle/ProductBundle/Migrations/Data/Demo/ORM/LoadProductDemoData.php to support loading of the localized product data. If not – that’s ok, I’m sure somebody else or one of our developers will make thee necessary modifications once the translated data file is available.

And (which I guess you know already) the OroCommerce UI labels can be translated via CrowdIn – https://crowdin.com/project/orocommerce/pt-BR

    Thank you,
    Michael
