Standard import from CSV files and REST/SOAP API will be included in one the next Alpha releases.

Are there any examples on how to import product data from JSON?
The documentation and video are not really clear, a simple step by step code example would be really useful to understand how it is implemented, how it gets called etc. I am very confused on the process. I understand the components and the general architecture but it is not exaplained well how to practically use it. Preferably in a way that I can run unit tests on them.
