To reward customer loyalty, offer repeat customers a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Line Item discount<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on a higher-margin product.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Offer a limited number of discounts to make them more exclusive and create desire. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Confirm that all discounts you\u2019ve planned will create a sales volume required to maintain or increase the gross margin. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, if your current margin is 15% and you\u2019re running a promotion that offers 5% off, you need to increase sales by 50% to make a profit. With the same gross margin and a moderate discount of 10%, make sure to boost sales volume by 200%. To provide the same 10% off the price while having the gross margin of 20%, grow your sales by \u2018only\u2019 100% to keep your business profitable. <\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Launching Promotions with OroCommerce<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OroCommerce provides a powerful tool to launch and manage promotions. The discount options available out of the box include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Promotions per order<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> where a discount is applied to the total order amount.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Promotions per line item<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> where a discount applies to each item or line item total. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Buy X Get Y<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> where a customer purchases a minimum quantity of product X to get the price off the product Y. This can be a \u2018buy one get one for free\u2019 deal (with the discount for Y item set to 100%) or a percentage or specific dollar amount of the line item total. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oroinc.com\/b2b-ecommerce\/blog\/training-thursday-shipping-promotions-orocommerce\/\"><b>Shipping promotions<\/b><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">where a discount is configured specifically for order shipping. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Depending on settings, all discounts deduct either a <\/span><b><i>fixed dollar amount<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (e.g.,$15) or a specific <\/span><b><i>percentage<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (15%) from the total order.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-7174 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/oroinc.com\/b2b-ecommerce\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/01\/promotions-discount-options.png\" alt=\"promotions-discount-options\" width=\"720\" height=\"310\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Discount options available in OroCommerce 1.5<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can build a <\/span><b><i>schedule <\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for promotions to be automatically activated and deactivated on any day or at any time. You aren\u2019t limited to one-time campaigns and you don\u2019t have to hassle; with manually reactivating each promotional event. Simply schedule a row of activities once and let OroCommerce launch and deactivate them for you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By default, any customer or customer group can see discounted items. However, you can <\/span><b><i>restrict the visibility<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of special offers to only targeted customers and customer groups. This delivers customers the highly personalized buying experience they want by showing them only items that match their profiles. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can select from one of two <\/span><b><i>discount strategies<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for your promotions.
