We highly value the feedback provided by our members and we hope this blog post clearly outlines the current improvements in progress and new resources available to our valued community.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>GitHub<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Oro uses GitHub to track community issues. It is recommended for members reporting bugs or suggesting improvements to log all issues into GitHub for quickest response. We will do our best to respond within two working days. (Please mind Ukrainian holidays because most of our team is based there.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Possibly the most important change we\u2019ve made is our workflow for handling issues. We now classify all incoming issues into three categories, and mark them with respective tags, so the status of the issue is clearly visible not only for the author, but for every community member willing to help or contribute to a fix.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Needs feedback<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/orocrm\/platform\/labels\/feedback%20needed\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">platform<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/orocrm\/crm\/labels\/feedback%20needed\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">CRM<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/orocommerce\/orocommerce\/labels\/feedback%20required\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Commerce<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">). This is a temporary tag indicating we require more information from the reporter &#8211; we will detail\u00a0what we need under the comments section. Once we receive the information we need, we will move this tag to one of the two remaining classifications; if no feedback is provided within 30 days, we will close the issue.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Open for contribution<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/orocrm\/platform\/labels\/open%20for%20contribution\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">platform<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/orocrm\/crm\/labels\/open%20for%20contribution\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">CRM<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/orocommerce\/orocommerce\/labels\/open%20for%20contribution\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Commerce<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">). This tag categorizes bugs or feature requests we recognize as valid, but do not fit into our immediate roadmap (the next two releases). Since we&#8217;re not planning to work on this anytime soon, community members are welcome to contribute.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Scheduled for implementation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/orocrm\/platform\/labels\/scheduled%20for%20implementation\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">platform<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/orocrm\/crm\/labels\/scheduled%20for%20implementation\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">CRM<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">). This tag marks issues the Oro team plans to fix within the next two releases. It\u2019s important to note this tag is always accompanied with a <\/span><b>milestone<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/orocrm\/platform\/milestones\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">platform<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/orocrm\/crm\/milestones\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">CRM<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) providing a timeframe for when the fix will be shipped in a stable release. Once an issue has been resolved, the &#8220;Issue fixed&#8221; tag will indicate whether the fix or implementation has been pushed into the master branch.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Another improvement to our GitHub repository is better visibility into the progress of a future release. Like before, release plans are available on\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.orocrm.com\/orocrm-and-platform-roadmap\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">our website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, but we are now using GitHub\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/orocrm\/platform\/releases\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">pre-release<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> functionality to give community members an idea on which features have already been implemented and pushed to the master branch. We will update the \u201cmaster branch release notes\u201d and development progress around\u00a0twice a month.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Community forum<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The forum is the place where we answer product-related questions and provide help with development-related issues. We have worked on improving our response time to forum posts and have now assigned a full-time developer to this role to ensure no issue remains unattended.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Community Slack channel<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To expand our community reach, we\u2019ve now opened a Slack channel!\u00a0Its purpose is to streamline collaboration efforts\u00a0for\u00a0our community members. The channel is by invite-only for now, but interested members can write to slack@oroinc.com to get an account.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We hope this sets the right expectation to Oro\u2019s dedication for its community and members.
