{"id":12642,"date":"2015-11-16T10:36:51","date_gmt":"2015-11-16T18:36:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oroinc.com\/b2b-ecommerce\/blog\/orocommerce-alpha-2-is-now-available"},"modified":"2019-11-15T02:37:50","modified_gmt":"2019-11-15T10:37:50","slug":"orocommerce-alpha-2-is-now-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oroinc.com\/b2b-ecommerce\/blog\/orocommerce-alpha-2-is-now-available\/","title":{"rendered":"OroCommerce Alpha 2 is Now Available"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oroinc.com\/b2b-ecommerce\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/01\/OroCommerce-wp-version-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-159\" src=\"https:\/\/oroinc.com\/b2b-ecommerce\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/01\/OroCommerce-wp-version-2.png\" alt=\"wp version\" width=\"794\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We are excited to announce that we now have a new Alpha version of OroCommerce available.<br \/>\nThis new Alpha 2 version adds the following features and enhancements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is now possible to create custom category\u00a0trees\u00a0for different customer groups, and even individual customers.<\/li>\n<li>We added configuration options to manage product visibility, and allow actions on the store front-end and the management interface based on product status and inventory availability.<\/li>\n<li>We also added product import and export functions.<\/li>\n<li>Support of free-form data entry and helpful price configuration hints have been enabled on the quote preparation screen.<\/li>\n<li>The quick order page has been enhanced with autocomplete functionality, and it now performs\u00a0immediate validation of\u00a0user-entered data.<\/li>\n<li>Additional price information is now available in the form of separate columns that can be added to and displayed in\u00a0the product grid. This functionality is accompanied by additional filtering options, which\u00a0we included in the price filters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Technical Improvements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We&#8217;ve implemented a number of small performance optimizations, UI enhancements, and various small fixes in the sample data, and added a few minor Symfony 2.7 compatibility improvements.<\/li>\n<li>We also added more strict server-side validation, and fixed browser and server-side validation errors for price inputs, unit selectors, and quantity inputs on various pages.<\/li>\n<li>In addition to command line installation, it is now possible to specify the URL path for the management console in the web installer as well.<\/li>\n<li>Application security configuration has been unified across all our products (learn more about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.orocrm.com\/orocrm-features\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">OroCRM<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.orocrm.com\/oro-platform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">OroPlatform<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>We added a store front-end theme selection in the system configuration.
