{"id":146057,"date":"2016-09-06T07:35:52","date_gmt":"2016-09-06T14:35:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oroinc.com\/b2b-ecommerce\/blog\/create-marketing-list-orocrm\/"},"modified":"2025-08-20T05:48:00","modified_gmt":"2025-08-20T12:48:00","slug":"create-marketing-list-orocrm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oroinc.com\/b2b-ecommerce\/blog\/create-marketing-list-orocrm\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Create a Marketing List in OroCRM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"How to Create a Marketing List in OroCRM\" width=\"711\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9cCmx0N-Qf8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Welcome to OroCRM video tutorial series. \u00a0This is Alex with OroCRM and in this video, I will demonstrate how to create a Marketing List.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A Marketing list is a list of contacts segmented according to conditions which are defined for the purpose of bulk emailing or telephone outreach. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Marketings lists can be used:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To run Email Campaigns in OroCRM<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To synchronize with Subscribers Lists in MailChimp and\/or Address Books in DotMailer.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In our example I will create a marketing list of customers who have a lifetime sales value greater than $1,000. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To create a marketing list navigate to Marketing \u2192 Marketing Lists\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">click the Create Marketing List button in the top right corner of the page.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The create Marketing list form is now displayed.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Define the name of a list as it will be referred to it within OroCRM.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The description field is optional. It can be filled with text to help you and other users to understand the purpose and logic of this list in the futu<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">re. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-146058\" src=\"https:\/\/oroinc.com\/b2b-ecommerce\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/08\/joxi_screenshot_1480340777397.png\" alt=\"joxi_screenshot_1480340777397\" width=\"416\" height=\"245\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oroinc.com\/b2b-ecommerce\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/08\/joxi_screenshot_1480340777397.png 416w, https:\/\/oroinc.com\/b2b-ecommerce\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/08\/joxi_screenshot_1480340777397-357x210.png 357w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 416px) 100vw, 416px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Select an entity from the drop-down list which we are going to select our contacts from.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Only entities that have contact details (E-mail or phone number) are available as columns.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Select a type of a list from drop-down menu.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dynamic lists are updated frequently as changes take place in the system.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On demand lists will be updated only if a user requests to refresh the grid in the View page of the Marketing List.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-146060\" src=\"https:\/\/oroinc.com\/b2b-ecommerce\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/08\/joxi_screenshot_1480340794532.png\" alt=\"joxi_screenshot_1480340794532\" width=\"395\" height=\"154\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oroinc.com\/b2b-ecommerce\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/08\/joxi_screenshot_1480340794532.png 395w, https:\/\/oroinc.com\/b2b-ecommerce\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/08\/joxi_screenshot_1480340794532-360x140.png 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 395px) 100vw, 395px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The owner field defines the user who can manage the marketing list. By default the Owner is the currently signed in User. This can be changed by using the select menu, or by typing User\u2019s name. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In the \u201cColumns\u201d section I will define the set of fields that will be included in our marketing list. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You will notice a blue note saying that the list requires at least one column with contact information and which contact information fields are available for this entity. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In our example we will create a simple list with a first, last name and email. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Select the field \u201cFirst name\u201d from the drop-down menu in the \u201cColumn\u201d section.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Label is the name of the field on the grid. The value defined for the field is added by default, but can be easily modified.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It is possible to define the sorting order if you want the grid to be sorted by the field value.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Finally, click the \u201cAdd\u201d button.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I will repeat the procedure for the remaining fields.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The position of the column can be easily changed by dragging a column in necessary order. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hover cursor on the \u201cMove column\u201d icon in the Action bar and reorder as needed. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You can easily delete or edit a column settings by pressing Delete or Edit icons.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Once the set of columns for the marketing list is defined we need to define conditions that will be used to segment the list. This is done in a Filter section.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In our example we will apply a \u201cField Condition\u201d filter. To learn about the functionality of other filters available please refer to a video tutorial \u201cHow to create a report\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Field Condition filter sets a condition for selecting records with specific values. Only records that meet such condition will be included in the segment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To define a field condition drag \u201cField condition\u201d to the box on the right and click \u201cChoose a field\u2026\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A drop-down list will appear.
