Starting with an upgrade to Symfony 4.4 LTS, enhanced data management and reporting, even more tools to customize and manage content, easier eCommerce setup and administration, and an improved developer experience, there\u2019s something to get everyone excited. And that\u2019s not even including the addition of B2C eCommerce capability!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In advance of the official LTS release in January, we\u2019ve issued the release candidate (RC) today. Here\u2019s what you\u2019ll get when you <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/oroinc\/orocommerce-application\/releases\/tag\/4.1.0-rc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">download the new version<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0 Be sure to check it out and let us know what you think.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Enhanced Analytics, Data Management, and Reporting<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Navigating, managing and collecting data, as well as helping your customers is about to get much easier. Here\u2019s what you can expect with the RC and what\u2019s to come with the LTS version.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">RC Release<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Google Tags Manager makes managing your tags simpler. Now Oro makes using Google Tags Manager even easier than ever. Starting with the RC, you can <\/span><b>enable Google Tag integration for data mapping globally, per organization or per website.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Managing data is also easier. Now, instead of exporting an entire database, you can <\/span><b>apply filters of your choosing and export only the data you need<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Those with large databases and extensive product catalogs are going to love this new feature.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">LTS Version<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The LTS version is going to have even more to love. While the details aren\u2019t finalized yet, here\u2019s what you can expect.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There will be enhanced <\/span><b>reporting widgets for common eCommerce KPIs.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You\u2019ll get complete <\/span><b>visibility into workflow generated emails<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on the customer, customer user, order, quote, request, account pages.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Back-office users will appreciate that many <\/span><b>actions will be performed with fewer clicks<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">An out-of-the-box template will let you <\/span><b>embed quotes in emails<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. No more supplying a link to view!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The ability for sales and customer to provide improved customer support will be enhanced with user impersonation. <\/span><b>Authorized users can sign-on as a customer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to see what their customer sees to better answer questions and facilitate sales.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Enhanced CMS Capabilities<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The powerful content management system gets even more power right out of the box.\u00a0 You get more control over content and content production as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">RC Release<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Experience full control over page layout, content and presentation with the <\/span><b>new WYSIWYG editor<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. In addition, preset widgets let you <\/span><b>easily embed videos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and a preview function lets you see the page in mobile and desktop formats before you publish. Optimizing for mobile is easy because you can <\/span><b>optimize for mobile instances directly from the preview screen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With such great power comes great responsibility. That\u2019s why you can now <\/span><b>set permissions to edit based on different roles<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Your content is more secure than ever as you have complete control over who can edit general content and who can embed videos from third parties. <\/span><b>Set permissions based on your unique content security needs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Speaking of edit permissions, you can now <\/span><b>give permission to users to insert HTML content generated by third parties<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. The system will not attempt to suppress or sanitize the HTML and CSS you generate with 3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">rd<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> party tools, so what you insert is what will be published.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Home pages and landing pages get a refresh with <\/span><b>powerful widgets like the configurable image slider<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. This widget lets you easily create image sliders and call to action buttons that can be placed on any page.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The ability to <\/span><b>upload and easily link to images, downloadable PDF attachments and other content files<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> will allow customers and site visitors to access files previously available only in the back office. This feature is great for adding product support content like MSDS sheets or user guides and manuals.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">LTS Version<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With the LTS version you\u2019ll get <\/span><b>production workflows for creating landing pages<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> so creating and approving content will be easier than ever.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Speaking of creating content<\/span><b>, new content widgets for products, product segments and embeddable categories<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> will make creating new pages as easy as assembling widgets. Developers can even create custom widgets for content creators to use in creating custom pages.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Web catalog content management<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for items with restricted views will be easier than ever with the addition of content filtering. Easily preview what pages are visible to what groups.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Setup and Administration Improvements<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Setting up and maintaining multi-company or multi-language installations is streamlined. You also get the added ability to set up a B2C website to complement your B2B operations as well. Many of these improvements are included in the RC version, but you\u2019ll have to wait for the LTS for B2C functionality.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">RC Release<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">OroCommerce\u2019s ability to setup and administer multiple organizations with a single installation has made it a favorite with companies with multiple operations. Now that functionality is even more flexible with the ability to <\/span><b>better separate products by company in a multi-company installation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Multiple companies with individual product lines have no problem starting the with RC release as you are no longer required to share the same product catalog for all companies.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Localization improvements<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> make sure the proper currency symbol appears where appropriate and that labels are translated correctly.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In addition, you\u2019ll benefit from <\/span><b>improved management of product attributes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> as well as <\/span><b>minor modifications and bug fixes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">LTS Version<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Starting with the LTS version, you can<\/span><b> configure a new website for B2C <\/b>with a single click<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0 This saves setup time as quotes, shopping lists and other features unique to B2B eCommerce are automatically disabled while features for B2C are enabled. If you have an existing B2B site and want to change it to a B2C site, just click the button and the changes to the configuration will be done for you.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Technology and Developer Experience<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Starting with the RC version, you\u2019ll find improvements near and dear to a developer\u2019s heart. <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With the <\/span><b>upgrade to Symfony 4.4 LTS<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> you\u2019ll experience improved performance, stability, and security. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">JavaScript developers will be excited about the <\/span><b>full integration of WebPack and Babel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> into the toolchain for use in building storefronts, themes, etc. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Everyone will benefit from <\/span><b>extended APIs and additional configurations and authentications<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to ease integrations with ERPs.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ready to Upgrade to OroCommerce 4.1 RC?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To upgrade OroCommerce, follow the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.orocrm.com\/documentation\/index\/current\/cookbook\/how-to-upgrade-to-new-version\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">upgrade<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.orocrm.com\/download\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">clone<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> instructions.
