The SARS outbreak of 2003 was much smaller and it cost the global economy a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2020-01-30\/economist-who-said-sars-cost-40-billion-sees-bigger-hit-now\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">whopping $40 billion<\/a> and China several months of economic contraction. Since then, China\u2019s economic output has multiplied eightfold, from $1.7 trillion to nearly $14 trillion &#8211; and is tightly intertwined with the global economy. However, a full recovery is still far off.<\/li>\n<li>China <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2020\/05\/china-wuhan-tested-residents-coronavirus-200515044026928.html\" target=\"_blank\"
