    Hi,

We noticed there is no billing and shipping address in version 5.0 for accounts. Is there any reason for eliminating them? We have defined billing and shipping addresses for our accounts. How can we upgrade to version 5.0 and still keep this information?

    Thanks

    Hi Ahmad,

The purpose of Account entity was changed in 1.5 version: in our multi-channel approach we envision Account as an “umbrella” entity that incorporates all the customer profiles across all channels. This approach allows you to combine various types of customers from very different channels under one account.

Along with this change we have introduced the B2B Customer entity that inherited all the information previously stored in Account—including billing and shipping addresses.

Therefore, to keep the information you have collected your course of action should be the following: create a B2B channel and store all address data under B2B Customer entity.

    Thank you,
    Artem

    Hi

I wake up this topic. How is it possible with your new approach to allow an account to share the same billing address for example between multiple contacts, if the address is defined into the entity B2B Customer and there is a one-to-one relation between B2B customers and contact entity ?

    Thank you for your reply

    Regards
    Sylvain

    Hi Sylvain,

No way to “share” it out of the box I’m afraid. A customization that allows a many-to-one relation between a business customer and a contact appears to be the easiest solution.
