According to Gartner, only the vendors that offer the functionality to enable the setup, operation, and ongoing maintenance of an enterprise marketplace were selected. These vendors sell this functionality as a product to be used during and after implementation, as opposed to offering marketplace tools as a service.

Last year, we stated that B2B marketplaces are a natural evolution of eCommerce. That is still true today, as eCommerce businesses continue evolving toward more complex buying-selling scenarios.
